I wonder this, with all different modifiers can one still create a building plan based on percents only? For all different buildings? Quote: simple build 30% homes 7% farms (6% with LotH) 7-8% markets The rest in mines These kind of instructions for learning are too helpful to ignore. |

This was intended for dev staff, but hey, why not ask you all? *Edit* Question for discussion: Do you use a %-based building strategy, or another way to determine what buildings you construct?

And in order not to lose track of my citz-food comparison I use a home-farm relative number (so exact food balance = number of farms/number of homes). The use of it is quite simple: when you grab, you first build homes.. and then forgot how much farms you exactly needed. Was it 7%? 6%? 8%? Much simpler if you just know it was 22% of your homes :)
Am I a freak? Yes. Am I a geek? No.
But yes, percent-based ;)

Ofc when you grab you tend to gain a lot of fame which will throw off the percent of farms you need...

that's why it's so useful to have a guideline :) otherwise you go back to what you thought you had, now you can actually use it to get a higher number, measure the difference, and voila :)

30% homes and 8% markets(since markets have the extra advantage of holding military I went to 8% instead of 7% earlier) Acads is a percentage too. The rest including farms are random. I don't mind being negative on food income or way positive.

basically I have no idea....I start with 7% farms and then when my citz starve because I gained fame or build some other buildings that magically hold citz...I build some more. I have no clue... ![Happy [:D]](/pics/emoticons/smiley-lol.png) I preffered the old way.

Same as Sweets.
Homes, acads, barracks, markets, CH and GH are obviously always percentbased (as well as walls/weaps) when you build them and farms generally too. It's logical since their effects are percentbased too (except for homes which you obviously needs maxed). Other buildings are way more 'raw' in producing advantages or resources. Only time they aren't percentbased for my tribe is when I decide to reduce them slowly (as opposed to instantly). In such a case I just don't build new ones on incoming acres, decreasing the percentage slowly. Especially in fast times like wars etcetera this is quite common for me (building guilds/acads only instead of homes/farms and such the like)

% based on homes,acads,farms,markets,barracks,walls,weaps,CH and GH..i usually have base of 7% on farms(depending on fame),if my citz starve,i check negative food income and divide it by 250(for tribes producing 250 food),that's how much i add on farms just to have an enough + food income..rest of the buildings are the remaining acres,depending on build(war,growth,turtle).
