i just thought the “hang on.. wait for it... yep!” post-war kill was standard around here?

so you wait for it, mutter something with “F” in it to self (or to allies on your forums if in extra-need-to-vent sort of mood), and then put certain offenders on mental scratch pad for later... right?

It is, but that doesn't make it right - or that things can't be improved. We have people surrendering and there's no rhyme or reason for it.

no no no writing.. “mental” scratch pad is far superior, because you never remember if you've crossed anything off or not, nor do you even remember if you are hitting the tribe you actually meant to or not? ...absolutely flawless, no?

regardless, am marking an affirmative from you in (“agreement with whatever i just said”) on my mental scratch pad.

I agree. At this point even if Alliance #XX surrenders, chances are Alliance #YY won't accept. 200 fame and a little extra science -when most don't have it- are not going to stop anyone from killing.

In order to prevent such things as taking refuge with “Surrender Hiding,” there must be a steeper price for surrendering - one that would make the other alliance have mercy.

1 - Sacrifice one of the top tribes for the sake of the alliance.
2 - Acre + Military swap: Loosing alliance get -20% acres/military/fame, winners get +20% acres/military/fame
3 - More from the market

And then have a no opping the opposing alliance period for say... 6-8 ticks?

Surrender gives added benefits to the winner, and must be agreed upon.

I feel that if the loser offers a surrender, and the winner accepts in order to reap increased gains, there should be a “cooldown” period.

That being said, I do like the fact that after a war has “ended” due to kills, grabs, or a combination of the two (acreage change) that kills can continue.

if you surrender then the declarer loses their bonuses to land grabs, black op damage, etc. Isn't that what a surrender is supposed to accomplish? of course you can always negotiate terms of a surrender before you just click a button, at least there was some diplomacy allowed before. but a kill after a surrender is the same as a OOW kill. they suck but this is a war game.... i think bigger gains on a surrender might open up a reason to negotiate terms of a surrender. as of now getting a surrender isnt worth the preparation that goes into declaring on someone. i would definitely not stop just because someone surrendered if there was no terms set for the surrender.
