Set the preferences to remote access on your computer and link the other one too it. WIndows might even have a tutorial

I think you asked the wrong people. To people who know anything about computers, that looks pretty rough.
However, to someone who doesn't know much about them or who needs something for light internet use, wordprocessing, a bit of social networking and/or running a small website that could be perfect. Try selling it not on its spec. but on what it can do. You would get more punters. It would be more perfect if it had a linux OS because I think it would work a lot quicker, but then most computer noobs aren't likely to be able to be too hot with even the Microsoft OS let alone anything linux. |

Keep it, reformat, install linux, don't install anything else except a browser, and just use it for aatw.

Thats actually a good idea

lol...I have a 128MB ram Toshiba with an ATI graphics card that a friend threw away because it had a Virus. I have more than just a browser and aatw on that, so you can be a little more generous with the options on it if you want to install linux.
there are some really small wordprocessor progs in the repositories for most of the more popular ones anyway. Although you could try to sell it as a Jollicloud system maybe? |
|
mazja, November 2011 | |

lol- wth is a “jollicloud” system?
joo, i thought of that but ddn't know if i could do that since it's windows vs mac? i know to all u pro's out there that this laptop may seem obsulete, ( i cant spell)- but the graphics card on this is awesome for my needs-(photography), and the only reason y i need it to link to my mac is that we r currently “under remodel” which was halted for medical reasons, and my mac sits in a very cold room and i really want to sit in my comfy chair with my blankie, coffee, and honey so i can multi task i did read something in the windows index however it was far beyond my computer knowledge or skills so i didn't bother reading the next page-lol |

Jolicloud is pretty sweet and light. I personally like Fedora atm out of all the linux distros. Mazja is familiar with OS X so she could prolly work Fedora

install tightvnc on windows (or on linux if you install linux on the system)
on the mac allow apple remote desktop (in sharing) and in that allow vnc to takeover the screen (somewhere in services) this should work to get you the mac on your laptop in the comfy chair :) |
