I remember way back, when we had hundreds who played this game... Why is it different now? what makes people not want to play? game structure? being turned off by getting mowed down by top alliances? Lack of advertising? what did they do back then that made this game so appealing and how did everyone come to find out about this game? I think we need to take a good look at it. I propose that we do something drastic, dont know what, to get this game back to its full potential!. Invite friends? Teach people more thoroughly? dedicate a couple of ages to just training? Sure we say well thats no fun...but if we could get even 10 new alliances in 12 weeks and have some more competition i think that it would be easier afterwards to get more people...anyways just ranting but I think its possible. | |

Probably won't be possible. The time of text-based games is over. Even the more “popular” games like Utopia are talking about “the good old days”. All we can do is consolidate our player base, reach out to old and new players, and try desperately to maintain a few hundred active players.

I play just out of habit. I can't really say I'm having “fun”. What I loved about orkfia is no longer here. The competition, the interaction, the changing possibilities. What I loved about orkfia most was being able to meet and play with new players every couple ages, different cultures, different ways of life. IRC trumped the actual gameplay.
But that's over now. The remaining players are rather cloistered, IRC fairly dead, and with the new infinity gameplay the between-age scramble is all but gone. We can only look back with fondness, and look forward to our final days. |

I would suggest maybe everyone go online, facebook, twitter whatever you use...and talk to some friends...get them interested...the thing is the age of the smartphone is there...and I believe that people would be interested if they knew they could bring the game anywhere.

there are a lot of games similar to orkfia's concept that have gone the way of having graphics and posterized in facebook (evony, shadowlands online, even utopia). Though the idea sucks, why can't we join the crowd to attract more players?

I don't know. I like orkfia stay non-graphic, especially since it is one of the few left.

I truly believe the biggest attraction is being able to play it mobile...i think people would jump to play it if we market it that way

tbf I think the only was to attract noobs is to make them play in big strong allys and make them get a taste of the real game. when you put the poor newbs into a bootcamp or in a slacking ally they won't find the game interesting. but the thrill of killing all one's enemies could be something that could make them stay!

oh for sure...thats why i first said we need to maybe have a couple ages where we all invest some time into dispanding and training...it could also be a challenge for us...maybe do a 5 experienced to 7 inexperienced ratio...i think it would be fun

50-50 would be the best imo

yea thats good too...i think this idea should be put to a vote...and anyone who disagrees is just a chicken ;) haha...maybe implement a vote when you login to see if people would be willing to do this and whether they are a vet or a noob

LOL just make alliances with 6 “strong” “experienced” players. and then visit a neutral alliance full of noobs and EVERYONE Adopt a NOOB!
|
|

its true! Im sure we would all like a little bit more of a challenge... in fact here it goes... KP...CD...other top allies! I challenge you all to split in half and adopt some noobs! or are you not good enough of players to train newbies?
|
|
Sonix, January 2012 | |

in that case we might as well take away infinity if the noobs wanna start at the same lvl as “pros”.
what alliance are you in canuckle btw? |

Most people are cock-locked with others. Plus, using the honor system to say that an alliance is half noob? >_>; Ouch.

if people are actually that pathetic that they need to use more pros then joes then whatever...they can sit at the top and make this game fade away...

We've got only 3 sorta n00bs left in KP cuz the 4th was Kalten.
So, we're looking for a new one, feel free to join oh yes, we had a lot more newbs but those are pros by now. |

game speed could be affecting the appeal of the game shorter builds. troop training most people play games at such a quick pace they don't want to wait 4 hours when they first start. they get bored within the first few minutes most likely.non graphics is not much of a concern of mine most people play these games for the friends they make. I have been playing KOC lost interest due to all the changes. I still believe this at one point was one of the best games out there but more players would be key here and as well as lower to 6in an alliance. the mobile aspect is a great thing.
